REAL ESTATE / GALLERY Ambuklao Dam There are two ways to reach Ambuklao Dam. You can take the Kabayan trip using the Ambuklao Road in Baguio near Pacdal Circle. This will usually take you 3-4 hours. The other way is to take the short cut using a private vehicle: From Baguio to La Trinidad and then to Halsema Highway. The travel time will be more or less than 45-minutes. Its adjoining places are Beckel, La Trinidad, Mankayan and other neighboring towns of Benguet.
Asin Hotspring Located 16 kilometers northwest of Baguio. The place features swimming pools surrounded by thermal springs, lush greeneries, and several hanging bridges, an ideal resort to escape the urban noise and pollution. Its neighboring places are Irisan and other towns.
Phil. Military Academy The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is the leading military institution of the country and is the training ground for future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. In 1950, the Academy was transferred to a sprawling 373-hectare compound in Fort del Pilar, Loakan which is ten kilometers south of downtown Baguio City. A relaxing walk around the campus reveals amazing scenery and lovely flowers. Establishments like Client Logic, Texas Instruments, National Food Authority and others are close at PMA.
Lion's Head Kennon Road is one of the major entries leading up to Baguio City from Manila and the provinces in the central and western parts of Luzon. It connects the city with the town of Rosario, La Union. Its nearby places include Camp 6 (part of Tuba) and Camp 7 (part of Baguio). While traveling Kennon Road, you can enjoy sight-seeing the mountains and rivers.
Bell Church The Bell Church is located north of the downtown area of Baguio along the road leading to the town of La Trinidad, Benguet. Within the compound of Bell Church are majestically designed structure adorned with flags, arches and dragons. It has a pagoda, and beautifully landscaped gardens. There are some artifacts about Buddhism that you will find at the Bell Church as well as some literature about the history of China. The place is very accessible to Baguio City and La Trinidad.
Teahers Camp Teachers Camp is located in a large campus-like environment east of downtown Baguio along Leonard Wood Road. The camp is a training center for teachers from all over the country who come to Baguio during the summer time to enroll in special courses in education. The other landmarks of Baguio like Botanical Garden, Country Club and Pacdal are within reach. Teachers Camp is also near shopping malls and entertainment areas.
Botanical Garden The Baguio Botanical Garden is located between Teacher's Camp and the Pacdal Circle, east of Baguio's downtown area. It is also near Navy Base. Its main entrance is along Leonard Wood Road, from Gilberto's Hotel to Baguio Vacation Hotel. It is about the same size as Burnham Park. It is also known as Igorot Village.
Lourdes Grotto The Lourdes Grotto is a Catholic shrine and place for meditation in Baguio. It is located on a high hill in the western part of the city where you will find the image of the Lady of Lourdes. Access to the top of the grotto could be made by climbing the 252 steps or by driving a light vehicle through a winding, narrow and steep asphalt-paved road. Its nearby places are Lourdes Subdivision, and Dominican Hill. Skyrise Hotel and Coyeesan Hotel Plaza are just around the corner.
Convention Center The Baguio Convention Center is reputed to be one of the most modern and most spacious facility of its kind. This imposing Center is located in the southern part of the city and is within short walking distance from the Baguio Tourism complex and the Baguio campus of the University of the Philippines which is just across the road. It is also very near shopping malls, Baguio City National High School and University of the Cordilleras. Convention Center houses the office of Tourism, a museum and a large area where big events are held.
Kennon Road Kennon Road is one of the three major access roads that lead up to Baguio City from Manila and the provinces in the central and western parts of Luzon. It connects the city with the town of Rosario, La Union. It is frequently traveled by people from the lowlands going to Baguio and its nearby towns. The communities along Kennon Road includes Camps 1 to Camp 8. The places are accessible to beautiful and recreational sites.
Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary The Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary is located at 25 North Santo Tomas Road, Campo Sioco, Baguio City. It is a place where one can enjoy serenity and gasp for pine-tree-smelling-air. Its nearby places are Balsigan and Bakakeng. It is also near Baguio General Hospital. Its road – Ben Palispis Highway leads to Agoo (42 km away).
Easter Weaving Room The Easter Weaving Room is the right place to visit if you are interested in native fabrics and other handicraft. It is located near the compound of the Bureau of Plant Industry. Bokawkan Road, Ferguson Road and Tacay Road are the entry points. Pinsao, Cresencia Village and Manzanillo are in close proximity. You can also find Calvary Baptist Church near Easter Weaving Room.
Good Shepherd Convent You will find the Good Shepherd Convent in Mines View Barangay. Its main entrance is Gibraltar Road and it is within walking distance from the souvenir shops at Mines View Park. For those who ride on a vehicle, enter the convent's gate and take the driveway that leads up to the parking lot inside the compound. Its neighboring areas are Mines View, Pacdal and Gibraltar.
Dominican Hill Dominican Hill is usually the next stop for visitors who go to Lourdes Grotto since it is close at hand. From the top of the hill, you can see the whole of City Camp all the way to Burnham Park and the Baguio Cathedral. Towards the left, one can view Quezon Hill, Camp Allen, the Baguio Public Market, Center Mall, Saint Louis University, and Quirino Hill. Marcos Highway, Green Valley, Country Club, and Sto. Tomas mountains are also visible from Dominican Hill. These areas are close to it.
Burnham Park Burnham Park is centered around a man-made lake located at the heart of the city. You can row a boat, have a picnic, attend an outdoor concert, watch a football game, go biking, or just take a leisurely stroll around the park. At the southern end of the park is a circular skating rink where skates can be rented. There are also tennis and basketball courts, a few restaurants, outdoor kiosks, a children's playground, and an orchidarium where various kinds of plants, trees and flowers are sold. Chairs and benches are distributed around the park for those who just want to sit down and relax. Its adjacent places are Legarda Road and the Central Business District where different establishments are very accessible.
Tam-awan Village The Tam-Awan Village is found in the northwestern part of the city. To find the village, proceed to Bokawkan Road which is behind Camp Allen, turn left at Ferguzon Road which leads to the Easter Weaving Room, and then right to Tacay Road which is an uphill climb. Upon reaching the top of the hill, take a right turn and this road will bring you to Tam-Awan Village. If you proceed further on, the road will take you to the town of La Trinidad. There are a number of Igorot huts within the village which will allow you to see how the homes of the mountain people really look like. The close places are Quezon Hill and Irisan.
The Mansion Located on the eastern part of the city along the Leonard Wood Road and right across from Wright Park. Vehicles entering the compound pass through a great circular driveway and it is usually open only when the Mansion is used for an official function or activity. The Mansion served as the seat of the Second Session of Economic Commission of Asia and the Far East in 1947. The elaborate main gate of the Mansion is said to be a replica of that at Buckingham Palace in London.
Catholic Cathedral The rose-colored Baguio Catholic Cathedral is located on top of a hill in the heart of the city. From Session Road, it is accessible by pedestrians who soar a long concrete stairway of more than a hundred steps. Visitors and churchgoers who would rather avoid the difficult climb-drive vehicles through an access road which passes behind the nearby post office building.
Rizal Park A rectangular piece of city property known as Rizal Park is situated between the enormous Burnham Park and the City Hall. The park was erected in honor of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines and is similar to numerous other parks that are found in towns and cities all over the Philippines which are also named in his honor. You can have a distance walk and check-in to Burnham Hotel, Hotel Veniz, and Prince Plaza Hotel The park is also near Quarry, City Camp, QM and Sanitary Camp barangay.
Aguinaldo Museum The larger-than-life size statue of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and the museum beside it is an interesting Baguio landmark which could be found at the upper end of Gen. Luna Road in a vicinity referred to by local residents as Jungle town. It is just across the street from the Bonuan Restaurant and has a small park around the statue which is a favorite playground for young children who live nearby.
Camp John Hay Camp John Hay used to be the rest and recreational facility for employees of the military and Department of Defense of the United States. This 690-hectare property was turned over to the Philippine government in July 1, 1991 and was initially administered by the Philippine Tourism Authority and then turned over to the Bases Conversion Development. You will pass thru Scout Barrio and South Drive Barangay before reaching the said place. Go farther and you will reach Loakan, the famous Philippine Military Academy, and Kias.
Mines View Park There is no doubt that the Mines View Park is one of the most popular and most visited park in the city. To reach the observation deck, you need to go down a winding stone-covered stairway which is just close to the parking area. There are few benches at the promontory where you can sit down to rest and enjoy the view. Its nearby places are Pacdal, Gibraltar, and Teachers Camp.
Wright Park Wright Park is one of the many attractive parks in Baguio City which is found at the eastern part of the city and fronting the main gate of the Mansion. From the park circle is a walkway which leads to a wide stairway made of stones that descend to an area where ponies are rented out. Lucnab, Navy Base Barangay, Gibraltar, and Mines View are its neighboring places.
